Our History
The club was reorganized in the mid-70s by a handful of enthusiasts who saw the need for a common meeting place for Corvette lovers of Central Arkansas. We met in a small business called County Corvette and the reorganization began.
The club developed allowing us to embark on many projects and activities designed to promote community service and fellowship for Corvette Enthusiasts.
Our activities included caravans to Pettit Jean State Park where we do what we do best… “EAT”. We are then off to our hike to Marble Falls, where some past members, although pilots were afraid of heights and had to scoot along the log walkways to complete the trip. The most eventful activity has to be our float trips on the Buffalo River. It’s amazing how the old timers can’t keep the shiny side in the water and the rookies can turn an 8-mile float trip into a 15-mile adventure. We still have a great time and again do what we do best “EAT”.
The more competitive members have embarked on the “SHOW” circuit and done quite well in representing the club and themselves in various shows across the region. The more adventurous have tried their hand at Auto Crossing to fulfill their need for speed.
As we progress we have tried to organize events to satisfy the interests of the variety of our members. We do this by varying our activities to accommodate as many interests as possible from car shows, caravaning, lake events, and trips to Bowling Green.
Our single largest event has grown from humble beginnings to a complete weekend in Hot Springs, AR. It is our annual weekend to benefit Spina Bifida. The event began almost 20 years ago in conjunction with the NCCC and a past member’s direct connection to a family member with Spina Bifida of Arkansas.
Our first event was a car show where money was raised by voting for the cars by placing quarters in a coffee can in front of the car to vote and raise money at the same time. We have been able to become the single largest contributor in Arkansas to this cause and we plan on many more years of support.
We look forward to many more exciting and fun-filled activities. Allowing everyone the opportunity to enjoy their Passion. “THE CORVETTE”. We hope by reading this, you will want to become part of a “fun-loving” group.
